We’ve got some great news to share! Mobile giant, MTN, has come on board to offer our students data-free access to www.regent.ac.za, www.regentonline.ac.za, and www.myregent.ac.za.

This means if you are using a valid MTN sim card, you can now log on to these sites from anywhere in South Africa for free, without using any data!

This is the latest of many measures and innovations that our behind-the-scenes team has secured or introduced so you can continue studying throughout the COVID-19 crisis. After all, our bodies are in lockdown, not our minds. Dreams and goals are still attainable if we have the means, dedication and commitment.

Last month we persuaded Cell C to zero-rate www.regent.ac.za , www.regentonline.ac.za , and www.myregent.ac.za so our students using the Cell C network didn’t have to fork out for data when logging on to these sites.

“For the REGENT BUSINESS SCHOOL community, supported distance learning is more than providing guidance and assistance to smooth over education challenges,” explains managing director, Dr Ahmed Shaikh. “It’s about shoring up the strength and connectivity of our student community through enhanced experiences. Whether it’s via our WhatsApp Chat Bot or free creative and innovation webinars at our iLeadLAB or on-the-house counselling sessions for students who need emotional support, we are fully engaged in making the RBS experience seamless, supportive and memorable.”

Our agreements with MTN and Cell C allows our student community to tap into all our online teaching tools and resources including webinars, videos, tutorials and voiced PowerPoint presentations for as long as they like and as many times as they want without having to worry about losing or topping up on data.

“We fully understand that the lockdown isn’t easy, especially with concerns around employment, and we are determined to ensure that the technology needs of our comprehensive remote learning platform do not place added stress on already strained student budgets,” says Dr Shaikh. “Our team is continuing with negotiations with other service providers so we can expand our data-free access to other networks.”
