Research Faculty

The Research Department focuses primarily on managing the core research activities, and supporting the academic and research staff and students through research management and development systems, building initiatives, and providing research support and incentive structures to stimulate researchers. The Office supports research planning and policy implementation, and operates on an open door policy in terms of assistance, guidance or advice on all research matters as well as other more general academic and personal issues such as supervision, journal publication, conferences, symposiums and seminars.

Professor Dhiru Soni

Professor Dhiru V Soni was Head of Department of Environmental Studies and Development and Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research at the erstwhile University of Durban Westville.

Nadeem Cassim

Research Administrator: MBA
Nadeem Cassim holds a Masters degree in Social Science (Industrial, Organisational and Labour Studies) from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He currently heads the Research Department, and is responsible for the development and review of research policies and procedures, as well as curriculum development.

Xolelwa Linganiso

Researcher MBA
Xolelwa Linganiso holds a Masters degree in Research Psychology from the University of the Western Cape (UWC). Her role is to supervise MBA dissertations as well as conduct workshops.

Suveera Singh

Researcher MBA
Suveera Singh has obtained a Master’s degree in Industrial, Organizational and Labour Studies at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, and is currently responsible for the supervision of MBA dissertations.

Fathima Mahomed

Researcher Co-ordinator
Fathima Mahomed is currently completing a Masters Degree in Higher Education through the University of Kwazulu Natal (UKZN). She is responsible for the co-ordination and supervision of Bcom Honours as well as Education (PGDIP)

Dr. Clever Chisoro

Researcher MBA
He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in African Economic History and Development Studies as well as a Master s in Business Administration (MBA). He is currently supervising students who are completing the dissertation component of their MBA degree.

Stanton Thomas

Research Administrator: MBA
Stanton Thomas is currently completing his Masters in Business Adminstration through the Management College of South Africa. (Mancosa). He is responsible for support and co-ordination within the Research Department.

Lee-Ann Inderpal

Institutional Research Manager
She has a Masters degree in Social Sciences (Sociology). Her role is to direct and oversee institutional research for the College. She is responsible for designing and leading institutional research studies and the evaluation of the effectiveness of the College’s programmes and policies.
