About

Our Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting
(PGDA) is accredited by SAICA. Entry to this PGDA programme for some
candidates requires the completion of an Access Programme.

This distance learning supported programme comprises four modules i.e.
Accounting, Auditing, Management Accounting and Finance and Taxation.
All four modules must be passed in one year to be eligible to enter the PGDA Programme.

An online course in ethics must be completed if not studied in the
undergraduate degree.

Objective

To equip prospective PGDA students with the competencies necessary to be successful in the PGDA exams and more generally in their careers as Chartered Accountants.

Staffing

The four modules are presented by Qualified Chartered Accountants and experienced academics who are supervised by the PGDA lecturing team..

Duration: 1 year

Modules

  • Accounting
  • Auditing
  • Management Accounting and Finance
  • Taxation *A 3 month Course in Ethics will be included if it has not been completed in the undergraduate degree.

Assessments

The programme will run three tests and a final entrance exam in each module.

Admission requirements

A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a BTech in Accounting or equivalent.

Completion of Financial Accounting, Auditing, Management Accounting and Finance and Taxation modules in the degree is a requirement and preferably a course in Ethics as well.

Exit criteria

All four modules in the Access programme must be passed in one year with 55% per module.
