Entry requirements

To be admitted to the Higher Certificate in Local Government Management, applicants must meet the minimum entry requirements for an NQF Level 5 qualification as determined by the Council on Higher Education (CHE) and the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET).

 

Minimum Admission Requirements:

 

  • A National Senior Certificate (NSC) with a minimum of 30% in the language of teaching and learning, granting access to Higher Certificate studies; or
  • A Senior Certificate (SC) or National Certificate (Vocational) at NQF Level 4; or
  • An equivalent qualification at NQF Level 4, as determined by REGENT’s Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) policy

 

Alternative Admission (RPL): Candidates who don’t meet the formal entry requirements but have relevant work experience in local government, public administration, or community development may be considered for admission through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
