The W&RSETA has partnered with REGENT Business School to deliver the Retail Management Development Programme for the 2024 academic year. The W&RSETA will award bursaries to 70 candidates from the retail sector to complete the Advanced Diploma in Management (NQF 7) qualification – SAQA ID 118319 – 120 credits.
This 1 year programme, customised for the retail sector, is comprised of a core as well as an  extended /experiential curriculum. The Core curriculum includes the following modules:
- Management
- Human Resource Management and Labour Relations
- Marketing Management
- Retail Operations and Supply Chain Management
- Management Accounting
- Management Information Systems.
The RMDP Programme
The extended/experiential curriculum includes Masterclasses, Immersions, Coaching and Mentorship and online short learning programmes, amongst other interventions.
Students will receive badges/ certificates of completion for each of the extended/ experiential components.
The Advanced Diploma in Management will be implemented through a hybrid methodology. Delegates will receive a combination of virtual and face to face engagements which will be supported by a dedicated team of colleagues to ensure active engagement and retention for the duration of the programme.
Important information to note, overall the programme will comprise of approximately:
- 15 Face to Face interventions (over 24 days)
- 2 Short learning programmes with certification badges (accessed by students online)
- 8 half day online sessions
The target group includes middle managers, supervisors and team leaders in the retail sector. Levy paying W&RSETA employers are encouraged to nominate staff, and ensure that the following documentation is submitted:

The Programme will be implemented nationally. Depending on applications per province, where warranted; applicants may be grouped to constitute a class.
