This workshop will take place over four sessions and will cover research ethics and integrity as the cornerstone of responsible research in the current time. The engagement aims to build awareness of the need for good research practice throughout the research journey and will guide participants towards the application of their knowledge about ethics to their research
projects. The aspects that will be covered will include but are not limited to:

PROF PENELOPE ENGEL-HILLS
Adjunct Professor
Cape Peninsula University of Technology
Penelope retired as Dean of the Faculty of Health and Wellness Sciences at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) in January 2021. She is now appointed in the position of Adjunct Professor in the faculty, Advisory Member of the Professional Education Research Institute (PERI) and Associate Member of the Applied Microbial and Health Biotechnology Institute (AMHBI). Penelope has throughout her career occupied intersecting roles as a health care practitioner, educator and researcher. She currently holds ministerial appointments on the National Health Research Ethics Council (NHREC) and the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). Penelope is an active researcher with a C2 National Research Foundation (NRF) rating.
She has graduated and continues to supervise a number of postgraduate students and has publications that represent her years of research in health sciences and professional education.
