Examinations and Assessment: November 2020 – Guidelines

Table of Contents

Dear Student
The Management and Staff of REGENT Business School (RBS) hope that you are well and safe during the current pandemic. In response to the COVID-19 crisis, and the continued risk posed by the disease, REGENT Business School has adjusted its traditional venue-based examination system. The key change is the use of a “take-home examination” instead of the more usual venue-based, invigilated examination. This form of an assessment is essentially positioned in the open-book assessment philosophy.

Please note the following regarding the upcoming November 2020 examinations.

1. Mock Preparation Examination session:

In an effort to ensure that you are ready for the take-home assessment, RBS has put together a mock examination preparation activity for all students. This mock registration activity is not module- or subject related. The intention is to help you familiarise yourself with the processes of during the take home assessment.  Details will be provided shortly.

2. Official Examination Period (Take-Home Assessment) and amendment to dates

The official November 2020 examination period is from 09th November to 16th November 2020. Please note: the examination papers scheduled for Saturday 14 November 2020 have been rescheduled to take place on Monday 16 November 2020.

3. Duration and start times of  Take-Home Assessments

In view of the take-home nature of the assessment, the duration for each examination paper has been extended by two hours,

  • a scheduled 3-hour examination will be of a 5-hour duration, and
  • a scheduled 2-hour examination will be of a 4-hour duration.

The start times for the examination sessions are as follows:
Session 1  – 08h00
Session 2  – 14h00

4. Personalised Examination Time-tables (PETs)

PETs will be emailed to all students. Students are required to check that details of the modules for which examinations are to be written are correct as per their registration.

All queries in this regard must be addressed to [email protected]

Best wishes for the forthcoming examinations.
