Hezekiel Bheki Dlamini

I started my professional journey as a Teaching Assistant (1992) and Assistant Warden responsible for the administration of student residences at the University of Eswatini main campus in Kwaluseni.

In 1994, I was promoted to the position of a Lecturer in the Faculty of Commerce at the University of Eswatini. I used to teach Business Management, Management Science, and Production/Operations Management. I also worked as a Faculty Tutor responsible for Student admissions, timetabling, summative and formative assessment, compilation, and distribution of student results. I was the Faculty of Commerce representative to the Faculty of Education Board. I left the joined Mhlume Sugar Company as Training and Development Manager – Designate in January 1997. In January 1998, I took a detour to work for Usuthu Pulp Company (Sappi Group) as a Materials Manager for one and half years before joining the Federation of Swaziland Employers (now Business Eswatini) as Deputy Executive Director-Training. Whilst going about my duties I got a second chance to join Mhlume Sugar Company.

I was responsible as head of Purchasing, Stores, and Sugar Warehousing Department operations. In 2001, Mhlume Sugar Company merged with Simunye Sugar Corporation to form Royal Swaziland Sugar Corporation (RSSC). I worked there as a Group Purchasing and Stores Manager for over 16 years. I took a voluntary exit package in March 2016 to take time off from the grueling schedule of international procurement and tendering travel. My intention was to spend quality time with my family whilst giving my body time to recover from mental exhaustion and clinical depression.

That only lasted for a few weeks before I was offered a chance to join the higher education industry, again. I worked my socks off as Executive Director/Principal at the Euro Africa Campus and part-time lecturer in Project Management down the road at RBS main campus in Manzini. I also worked as a part-time lecturer in Management Science at the University of Eswatini. Following a mini-stroke scare, I finally managed to take a year off from full-time employment in October 2017. In March 2019 I joined RBS as Academic Manager till today.
